Tastes In Music and It's All Fine

Just to get this out of the way, you know what music preferences are.

I'm a rock and jazz - might as well throw in soul too but rock and jazz are resolute faves of mine - gal. Electric guitar and sax are like mermaid sirens for me to instantly get attached. I like experimental music too such as adding classical instruments to other genres of music. I'm really attached to Sound Horizon. More often than not, Jpop is more to my tastes than the pop here in the US. I can listen to them just fine, it's just eh.

I can listen to music that isn't at the top of my list like ballads and rap. I can listen to them just fine better than say music that isn't my tastes. Rap still has a better chance to get me to listen since ballads are almost a constant skip for me.

For the life of me, ballads just aren't my thing. The soft and slow ballads I like tend to be on the slight upbeat end or have something that set them apart. For example, Shoji Meguro's My Testimony and Memories of You are far more my alley than One Hand, One Heartbeat.

Typically, my taste leans towards OST, particularly video game and anime OST, and wild experimental music. Indie music isn't music I would usually listen to since nowadays here in the US, it just sounds the same when I just want experimental and new.

I just want experimental, something wild and out there.

And that's based on sound. In terms of lyrics, I'm drawn a lot to dark lyrics or at the very least complex lyrics. Now, it doesn't have to be that complex with all those symbolism and themes anime theme music is known to be doing for the most part. I can still have fun lyrics.

I don't give a fuck about your music preferences regarding PTD. PTD is on the same level as MIR for me, a cute and lovely song but not to my tastes. I preferred the Lauv remix because the original is just so Ed Sheeran-y - the touch of BTS is the only thing that could make me listen to it on repeat - and Ed Sheeran songs except a few aren't my thing. There are some parts of the songs I do like though and the songs may or may not have been growing on me. Jamais Vu did grow on me after all and that's not my fave track for MOTS. I understand the sentimentality behind them and what they are for.

Now that's out of the way, go buy and stream Butter and PTD!
