Glee Covers
As far as common knowledge can give us, Glee make horrible covers. I slap myself during Rocky Horror Glee Show. Guest stars cannot save this show either. All the themes hit us over the head! They got some good ideas only to have many characters lose potential! GLBT goodies aside, the writers never seem to take any kind of other risk than GLBT, sex, and drugs! Mostly, GLBT because Kurt's story definitely points there...
While more realistic than High School Musical (ridiculous piece of idiocy) to an extent, they seem to fail to grasp what else they could have done with the plot and characters. Cheating became so predictable I easily announced the OTP be broken up.
I'm not here to rant how many sharks Glee jumped.
Everyone knows how bad the covers are. I let it slide with Adele's "Rolling in the Deep". The cover was half bad because Rachel sounds horrible.
I listened to many covers, "Friday" included. I will brave the covers to get the potential that the writers need to get.
I pretty much snapped when I heard their cover of one of my favorite songs of 2012, fun.'s "Some Nights" at the same time Glee yet again jumped the shark (no, won't discuss because I easily deleted all information I know of Glee...yeah, forgot). I haven't heard any covers of Ellie Goulding's songs yet, but hearing a cover of "Lights" will make my ears bleed.
The potential is lost at this point (especially when the characters still act like a**holes) and I refuse to watch anymore.
Glee used to make good covers in their first season which was admittedly a good season until they began using popular songs interchangeably without a second thought of what they had done earlier. They used a good mash of songs that fit well with the story.
The show just became laughable afterwards. The covers just didn't help.
